The actions taken by the National Civilian Protection System are very transcendental for Mexico, and one of them was to take the initiative of "Hospital Seguro" against disasters like a national risk reductive policy, which guarantees its ability to keep working in emergency situations.
International Enviroment
The Social Security Mexican Institute, as an active member of the National System of Civil Protection, has taken on the compromise of putting into practice the Hospital Seguro Program, proposed in 2005 by the United Nations (UN) ad signed by 158 member countries, being our country among them.
Nonetheless, the Institute had been already working in its medical units of 2nd and 3rd level of attention, which have been criteria in this subject since 1996, followed by the signature of an Agreement between the Federal Government and the Pan-American Health Organization.
An example of this is also the construction of the Hospital General Regional No. 1 “Carlos MacGregor Sánchez Navarro” under the vulnerability reduction regulations set out by the OPS.
