IMSS-Oportunidades is a Program of the Federal Government, managed by the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and detracted from the Health Ministry.
The program's mission is to guarantee the right to health for all the Mexicans and to stimulate the opportunity equality for the population in extreme poverty within the country.

The main goal of the IMSS-Oportunidades Program is to grant free integral health services for people with social and economic disadvantages living in remote communities.

With the implementation of an Integral Healthcare Model, the program coordinates the medical and community actions, so attention is respectfully drawn to their customs and traditions, and favor the link between the traditional and institutional Mexican medicine.

The first responsibility of IMSS-Oportunidades is with their affiliates, in order to grant them a quality service ever humanly and respectfully to the dignity of the individual; commitment shared by all the people who play a role in this Program.
