The Internal Control Authority (ICA) represents the Ministry of Public Administration with the goal to prevent, detect and abate corruption in the Mexican Institute of Social Security. It also works to promote transparency and public servant observance of the law by conducting audits and revisions of different institutional processes. Additional obligations include the heeding of complaints, denouncements, and citizen petitions; and the resolution of administrative misconduct proceedings and denouncements, as established in the Public Administration Improvement Program.
